In Washington State, Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition (COPC) recently led a Voices for Healthy Kids–supported campaign around the state’s SNAP incentives pilot programming. COPC focused on the economic development benefits of SNAP incentive programs to advocate for funding in the 2019-2021 Washington State budget.
After strategically developing messaging that focused on the business benefits of SNAP incentives, advocates successfully influenced the budget to include $2.5 million for produce incentives for people who are eligible for SNAP.
