Democratic U.S. Rep Matt Cartwright announced Wednesday that Easton’s Nurture Nature Center received a $267,394 federal grant to help make fruits and vegetables more affordable for low-income families participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).The grant comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture and is distributed by the Food Insecurity Nutrition Incentive program (FINI).FINI is a joint effort between the USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture and its Food and Nutrition Service, which oversees SNAP and has responsibility for evaluating the effectiveness of the incentive projects.For the entire article, click here.
