Voices for Healthy Kids Voices is working with state agencies and local school boards to support efforts to sell healthier snacks and beverages in school, which we see as a key strategy in the effort to help youth develop life-long, healthy-eating habits. A recent infographic produced by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation shows why that strategy is important.Using the results of several school-nutrition studies, the infographic shows that schools that offer healthier snacks can help students consume fewer calories and reduce unhealthy weight gain while expanding school meal participation, which increases revenue for schools. Not surprisingly, the infographic also shows the high level of support that exists nationally among parents for healthy school snack policies – an overwhelming 72%.
