The first study of its kind evaluating ordering patterns of children's meals when provided with healthier menu items and changes in restaurant revenues shows potential for both improved children's health and restaurant growth. The research shows that increasing the prevalence and automaticity of healthier options at a regional, full-service United States restaurant chain was associated with improved nutritional quality of food orders for children and continued revenue growth for restaurants.
