About
Co-Presented by Shannon Melluzzo Manager, Advocacy Grants, and April Wallace, Equity Strategy Lead for Voices for Healthy Kids
Voices for Healthy Kids believes that we must use policy change to disrupt age-old systems and practices that enable racism and oppression to block communities from achieving equitable health and well-being. We also strive to prioritize equity in how and where we do our work. Join Voices for Healthy Kids to learn about our journey to revamp our regranting program to focus on building equity, not only in the type of campaigns we fund, but also with a focus on where and whom we fund.
We will discuss the three main components we have used to make the work and funding more equitable: (1) funding where the needs are the greatest, (2) funding organizations led by and staffed by Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino/a, American Indian, Alaska Native, Asian American and Pacific Islander leaders and (3) simplifying the application form and process for applicants to ensure a more user-friendly equitable process.
This webinar is for your organization if you provide grants to community organizations through a call for proposal or if you're interested in a Voices for Healthy Kids grant and would like to know about our process. We also welcome current or former Voices for Healthy Kids grantees to share feedback on the changes.
