National Grassroots Manager, Digital

Maura is a seasoned professional with nearly two decades of experience in digital marketing, communications, and grassroots advocacy.

Before joining the Voices team, Maura's career spanned the private and nonprofit sectors, where she managed creative and development teams, and crafted communication and digital marketing strategies. She loves finding new ways to leverage technology to drive campaign victories and ensure organizations effectively connect and engage with supporters.

Her journey as a passionate grassroots advocate started simply by advocating for her own kids and then helping others do the same. It led her to work on important public education and public health issues and helped her discover the transformative power of using one's voice to drive change and advance policies.

For nearly a decade, Maura led or managed numerous local and state-level campaigns. She played a pivotal role in various public education funding initiatives, contributing to the success of campaigns that collectively secured nearly $1 billion in increased revenue for capital improvement and operational funding for two large Denver-area school districts.

Maura also dedicated three years to leading a grassroots advocacy organization focused on enhancing funding within her local school district and at the state level, earning recognition for its impactful advocacy and commitment to educational equity for all students, irrespective of their zip codes.

Maura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Skidmore College and studied at the Institute of European Studies at the University of Freiburg, Germany, where she focused on the European Union and NATO.

While she originally hails from New Jersey, her life adventures led her to the suburbs of Denver, Colorado where she lives with her husband, two kids and adorable, but hyper young dog. When she’s not running kids around, you’ll find her researching her next travel adventure, listening to new music, or trying desperately to finish a book. She is deeply engaged with her community, and her commitment to community involvement underscores her belief in the importance of collective action and grassroots engagement to foster positive change.
