Sugary Drinks

Stop sugary drinks from hooking our kids

Did you know that sugary drinks such as fruit drinks, sports drinks, sweetened waters and teas, energy drinks, and soda have been identified as the primary source of added sugars in American diets?

Luckily, states and cities across the nation have begun to work toward making healthy drink alternatives, like water, milk, and 100% juice with no added sugars, more attractive and available. Through sugary drink taxes, cities and states across the country are working to decrease diet-related illnesses, such as diabetes and heart disease. The sugary drink tax revenue can also be used to support important programs like clean drinking water in schools, walking trails and bike paths, and universal pre-K programs.

Access to healthy drinks is crucial to helping kids grow up at a healthy weight and avoid diabetes and heart disease. Who doesn’t want that?
