in Kids' Meals

Yesterday, Daly City, CA, joined the growing movement to serve kids better by making healthy drinks the default in restaurant kids’ meals!

On December 11th, 2017, Daly City adopted a healthy default drinks in kids’ meals ordinance with a unanimous vote. Then, on January 8th, 2018, the city officially enacted their healthy default drinks (water or milk) in kids’ meal ordinance with a second unanimous vote.

Daly City joins the cities of Davis, Stockton, Perris, Berkeley, Cathedral City, Long Beach and the county of Santa Clara in the growing movement among California localities to adopt ordinances that require healthy default beverage options in bundled kids’ meals. Lafayette, CO, has also adopted a healthy kids’ meal policy.

Congratulations to Public Health Advocates, American Heart Association, The Youth Leadership Institute, San Mateo County Public Health Department, The Bay Area Nutrition and Physical Activity Council and all the advocates who are making each day healthier for all children!
